I’m a big fan of starting projects.
That feeling you get at the beginning of the year when you crack open the spine of brand new album? I live for that…truly.
The rest of it though? Continuing on after February 1st? Not exactly where I excel.
Enter Project Life Rewind.
The idea is simple—each month, catch up on previous year’s layouts from the same month. So, in January, you’d work on January layouts from previous albums, February layouts in February, and so on.
This idea isn’t original with me though. I first saw Ingunn from @smultringunn talk about this project and she led me to Kristin, the current originator of this year’s catch up project.
🗂️ February Catch-Up
This year, I’ll be working on five previous year’s projects: my 2018, 2019, and 2023 are physical albums and 2022 and 2024 are digital albums.
❤︎ 2018 Album in 9x12 size
Weeks 1 - 9 (January and February) FINISHED
❤︎ 2019 Album in 9x12 size
Weeks 1 - 9 (January and February) FINISHED
❤︎ 2023 Album in 6x12 size
Weeks 1 - 7 FINISHED
Week 8 February 20 to 26
❤︎ 2022 Digital Album in 8x10 size
Weeks 1 - 5 FINISHED
Week 6 February 7 to 13
Week 7 February 14 to 20
Week 8 February 21 to 27
❤︎ 2024 Digital Album in 8x10 size
Weeks 1 - 6 FINISHED
Week 7 February 12 to 18
Week 8 February 19 to 25
Week 9 February 26 to March 3
My plan is to finish all seven of these February layouts before the month is through and post a check-in at the beginning of March.
My original plan was to record my process as I work through these catch-up layouts. But, life at the moment is barely conducive to completing this project, never mind recording the process. 🤷♀️ You might be able to hear the reason why in the video above!
So, I will try to share any completed layouts in my check-in posts each month, but no promises on process videos.
I’d love to hear how you catch up on gaps in your albums. Let me know in the comments. below!
