Time for a Rewind | Week 8 Process Video

Let's catch up with week 8 in my 2023 project life album!

I’m excited to say I’ve completed February in my 2023 project life album. Ok, so I only had one week to catch up on, but STILL. Progress, friends, progress.

What I Used

  • 6x12 linen album + page protectors from Studio Calico (no longer available)

  • Story Play Little Moments Digital and Physical Mini Kit

  • Cork Asterisks (from my stash

  • Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher

  • Recollections 8 1/2 x 11 Clear Vellum (Michaels Brand)

  • Epson XP 15000 Wide Format printer

Lessons from Week 8 | 2023

  • This layout was smack dab in between two sets of spreads that were already completed so I had to work with the page protector and layout style I’d used for the previous weeks.

  • The 6x12 album can be a really confining size for weekly project life when there are so many photos to add but I enjoy puzzling out ways to make it work ie, adding multiple photos onto a pocket page card.

  • Photos work wonders to job my memory. A quick once-through of the photos and videos I had for the week (my partner and I share a Google photos account so I’m able to see everything all in one place) triggered a general idea of what happened during the week.

Something to Think About

“Could I be daily journaling all wrong?”

For me, daily journaling has always looked a bit like a play by play of the day.

On Monday, we woke up early, ran out of coffee creamer and had to drink my morning jolt with milk (not as good), had a good school day, and made cottage pie for dinner. Went to bed late after a hard time getting my littlest little to sleep.

As I digitally thumbed through my photo archive from week 8 in 2023, I kept wishing that I had more than just a daily recap to work with. Our eldest daughter had just turned six that year, and I remember laughing every day at the things she came up with. Luckily, for this particular week, I had a few video snippets to pull from, a way to help me capture the funny little mannerisms and thoughts of hers that escape my memory.

But I still wished I had more…I don’t know...personality, for lack of a better word, in my daily documenting.

Making a note of this desire as I work through my current journaling practice.
